10th Challenger Cup today; KPC, CCK set for a friendly showdown

Kohima, Nov. 18 (EMN): The 10th edition of the Challenger Cup will be played on Nov. 19 (Sunday) at 2 pm at the Kohima local ground. The teams vying for the Challenger Cup are Classic Club Kohima (CCK) and Kohima Press Club (KPC). The Challenger Cup is an annual football exhibition match played by the two clubs since 2006 as a mark of camaraderie among the members. The match is a regular feature of the annual premier football tournament Classic Cup, which is organised by the Classic Club Kohima.
To commemorate a decade of the Challenger Cup, a special ‘thanksgiving service’ will precede the match kick-off. Baptist Mission Church pastor Rev. Moa Longchari will be gracing the event as a special guest while Classic Club president K Neibou Sekhose and Kohima Press Club president Xavier Rutsa will also deliver short speeches.
Team Classic Club in white is expected to be led by MLA Dr. Chotisuh Sazo as the captain, while KPC in blue will be led by Neidilhoutuo Sechü.
