Zunheboto’s health office reviews work

Dimapur, Aug. 8 (EMN): The Zunheboto chief medical officer’s (CMO) establishment conducted its district quarterly review meeting on August 7 at the CMO’s office in Zunheboto.
Zunheboto’s chief medical officer’s establishment issued a press release to the media on Thursday informing about the programme.
CMO Dr. CW Tungoe delivered the keynote address. The quarterly review meeting is important for disseminating information, and to update and communicate with one another, he said. He urged the health workers to work with dedication and sincerity.

The medical officer informed about the various issues that need to be resolved. These included ‘irregularities’ of staff and maintenance, the updates stated. He was stated to have urged the workers to be ‘responsible,’ according to the updates.

Various reports and presentations concerning performance and activities were given by the health officials, the updates stated.

The Rota Virus Vaccine as part of routine immunization under the universal immunization programme in the district was launched by Tungoe during the meeting, the updates stated.

Further, the 2nd round National De-worming Day was highlighted by Dr. Alemwabang Aier. He said schools and Anganwadi centers will be the implementation sites of the NDD, with the objective to improve the overall health, nutritional status, access to education and quality of life of children.

The programme is for children of the age group 1-19 years. The updates stated that ‘Albendazole chewable tablets’ will be provided.
