The Zeliang People’s Organisation, Nagaland said it strongly condemned and disapproved a Rongmei village under Jalukie in Peren district in the name and style of Jalukie Rongkaidai Village to be inaugurated on April 15, 2016 as “the Rongmei tribe is not indigenous” of Peren district.
ZPO in a press release said, “For the manner the village is established on a procured piece, the sentiment of the native Zeliangs is never daunted nor suppressed but the short-sighted conduct of any section of the population who had gullibly succumbed to the influence of money and are continuing to act as achievers is vehemently denounced”. According to it, land ownership is inherent and hence procurement never denotes natural right. “The ZPO (N) and the Zeliangs will stand by the truth for it shall prevail and woe be unto them who betrays the people and also who sustain such deeds”, it added.
