Dimapur, May 2 (EMN): Zeliang People’s Organisation (ZPO) has strongly condemned the incident in which some members allegedly from Mbaupungwalui barged into the resident of Kengim Kulimbe, its advisor and prominent resident of Dobashi Colony, Ward No. 1 in Jalukie town, with the intention to cause physical harm on April 27.
The organisation, in a release issued by its media cell, has termed the incident ‘unfortunate’ that such horrendous scheming could be encouraged and rowdily perpetrated by one village community against a peace loving citizen.
“The present millennial society that longs to pompously coexist in the most advanced way of life cannot digest the lawlessness and stark depravation of civility of such a community that chooses to have humiliated itself by committing such riotous act of taking law in their own hands with vindictiveness to cause physical harm and trespass on the private property of another individual,” the release stated. It added that such offence was never learnt to have been left unpunished by traditional and customary practices even in the most savage existence of the ancestors.
While condemning the appalling act meted out to its advisor, ZPO stated that the competent authority under Jalukie sub-division would be held solely responsible if it fails to restore law and order and ensure befitting punishment upon the offenders according to the law of the land at the earliest.
