Elucidating on the rapidly changing scenario across the globe, the director of Technical Education, Mhaseto Nakro called upon the youth to explore beyond their comfort zone and excel in life.

Speaking at the 68th general session of Thenyizumi Students’ Union (TSU) as the special guest held on December 29 at multi-purpose building in Thenyizu village under Phek district, Nakro encouraged the youth to accept challenges as stepping stones to go ahead adding that ‘hard work always win.’

Stating that a government job is not the only option, Nakro expounded that there are various professions that could be taken up in modern society only if a person is ready and determined to face challenges to achieve things in life.

The director also urged the parents to inspire their children in order to achieve success in life, while he also exhorted the students to keep a strict routine and to judiciously manage their time by valuing each moment.

Meanwhile, Nakro also briefly highlighted the prospect of the New Education Policy (NEP), stating that it would be more practical based education with the benefits for the learners to be more skilled. Informing that NEP would soon be implemented, he told the parents and students to be mentally prepared to embrace the same.

In his greetings, chairman of Thenyizu village council Medothi Rhakho exhorted the student community to preserve and give their best in studies and fear God.

The presidential address was delivered by its president Vekuto Kezo, while the educational and statistical report was presented by Zuhvozolu Theyo, folk song was presented by Women Society of Thenyizu and a solo by Yotolu Swuro.

On the occasion, 17 students were awarded with Late Punuhu Dawhuo Memorial Award donated by the former minister Thenucho Tunyi for securing first division in HSLC examinations.

In the evening session, Boduve Peter Resu, Judicial Magistrate, was the session speaker, while the Village Education Committee (VEC) chairman, C Theyo, also exhorted the gathering.

Meanwhile, a new team of TSU for 2022 was also announced led by Nuzovo Dawhuo as president, Vezhodulu Swiho as vice president, Nusakholu Dawhuo as general secretary along with other executives.
