Xiaomi launches new Poco X5 and Poco X5 Pro smartphones
Chinese smartphone maker, Xiaomi, recently launched two new mid-range smartphones from its Poco X lineup: The Poco X5 and Poco X5 Pro. Both devices come with upgraded specs including a high refresh rate screen, new SoCs and bigger batteries.
The vanilla Poco X5 comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chipset and a 6.67″ FHD+ AMOLED display. The display supports 120Hz refresh rate and up to 240Hz touch sampling rate. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and can reach 1200nits of peak brightness.

The Poco X5 comes with storage options of up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. It also packs a massive 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast-charging. On the back, the device features a triple-camera setup which includes a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. On the front, there is a 13MP selfie shooter.
Other notable features include full 5G and 4G LTE support, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 5, NFC, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, an IR blaster, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Poco X5 will be available in green, blue, or black colour options.

On the other hand, the Poco X5 Pro comes with an upgraded chipset, namely the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G. The device also features a 6.67″ FHD+ AMOLED display with support for 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate and 10-Bit colour depth. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and is capable of reaching 900nits peak brightness.
Like its sibling, the Poco X5 Pro features a 5,000mAh battery but it supports a faster 67W wired fast charging. Storage options include up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Similar to the X4 Pro, the PocO X5 Pro comes with a triple-camera setup that includes a 108MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP macro lens.

The vanilla Poco X5 starts at $199 (roughly INR 16,500) for 6GB RAM/128GB storage variant and $249 (roughly INR 20,000) for the 8GB/256GB model. The Poco X5 Pro has been priced at INR 22,999 for base 6GB RAM/128GB model and INR 24,999 for the higher 8GB RAM/256GB storage variant.
