Dimapur, July 5 (EMN): Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has finally announced the sale of its Mi 11 Ultra smartphone in India but there is a catch. Customers will have to first buy a gift card worth INR 1,999 to get access to the sale.

Xiaomi had announced the Mi 11 Ultra all the way back in March but the company said it had to delay the Indian launch “due to circumstances beyond our control.”

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has confirmed that its flagship phone will go on sale for the first time in the country on July 7 at 12 pm IST. The Mi 11 Ultra will be available via Mi Home and Mi Home store only. Customers will need to buy an “ultra gift card” for INR 1,999 on the official Mi website, which can be later redeemed against the price of the Mi 11 Ultra during purchase.

It seems Xiaomi‘s Mi 11 Ultra will not be available for everyone in India with the company citing limited availability. Hence the extra steps of acquiring a gift card in order to purchase the phone. However, the company has not said how long the sale will last and how many units will be available.

Xiaomi is also bundling extra bonuses with the sale including two free screen replacements, an ultra merchandise superfan box, prime annual membership and an extra F-code.

The Mi 11 Ultra comes at a price of INR 69,999. The phone comes only in one variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It has a 6.81-inch QHD+ E4 AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 3200×1440 pixels in a 20:9 aspect ratio along with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

The phone is powered by a flagship Qualcomm 888 5G SoC and runs on Android 11-based MIUI 12.5. It has a 5000mAh battery with support for 67W wired fast-charging, 67W wireless charging, and 10W reverse charging.

The Mi 11 Ultra boasts a triple camera setup with a 50MP ISOCELL GN2 primary sensor, a 48MP Sony IMX586 ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 48MP Sony IMX586 telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and optical image stabilisation. For selfies, there is a 20MP shooter on the front.
