WQSC members trained on water quality testing in Mokokchung

Dimapur, Oct. 19 (EMN): Women members of Water Quality Surveillance Committee (WQSC) were trained on water quality testing with field testing kits and online uploading of water reports in WQMIS portal through mobile app at PHED office, Mokokchung town on Tuesday.

A press release informed that the training was organised by DWSM, PHED Mokokchung division and sponsored by Sanitation and WSSO, PHED Nagaland.

It said that the main objective of training was to create a community-based water quality monitoring and surveillance system at grassroots level by the community itself to create awareness of safe drinking water.

Resource person, Alemjungla Longchar, Chemist, Mokokchung division shared the manual procedures and technical aspects of the field testing kit to the women. Later on, hands-on training with the FTK was conducted, it said. The training was attended by 36 women members from the Water Quality Surveillance Committee from 17 villages. Field testing kits were distributed to all the participants, it added.
