World Malaria Day observed in Tsg

Development Association of Nagaland (DAN), under its Intensified Malaria Control Project-phase II and in collaboration with NVBDCP Tuensang district, has observed the World Malaria Day on the theme “Invest in future, Defeat Malaria” on April 25 at Tuensang town.
The programme was organized by Development Association of Nagaland with support from CARITAS India and Government Higher Secondary School, Tuensang. The event was held at Government Higher Secondary School, Tuensang town, with the participation of seven schools in the painting competition on the topics ‘Invest in the future. Defeat Malaria,’ ‘Treatment and diagnosis of Malaria,’ and ‘Community towards free malaria.’Around 300 students, teachers and youth witnessed the programme which was chaired by Imti Longchar, DEO IMCP-II, while the invocation prayer was offered by Imti Jamir, MTS NVBDCP, Tuensang, followed by welcome address delivered by Kishor Das, DPO IMCP-II. Special number was presented by students of Christ King School and Loyem Memorial School, Tuensang.
On the occasion, Imti Jamir, MTS NVBDCP, Tuensang, gave input on diagnosis and treatment of Malaria and the event was concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by A Thrilichem Sangtam, FS Tuensang.
Prizes were also given away to the top five winners of the painting competition namely Ithomi of Akhum Imlong School; Soluba of Thangjam School; Heno P and Thelongchem of St John Higher Secondary School, and Tiasangba of Loyem Memorial High School respectively.
