WOKHA — In an effort to foster personal development and promote academic excellence, the Wokha Village Students’ Union (WVSU) has established a free tuition centre on August 5.
Speaking at the launch programme, WVSU president Chipenthung N Kikon, informed that the initiative aims to combat drug abuse in the district, given the increasing number of drug users in the community. He emphasised that educating young students is essential to eradicating social evils in society.
Despite the persistent efforts of concerned authorities and NGOs to address the issue, Kikon noted that the presence of drug users remains concerning. He stated that WVSU's long-term solution involves actively monitoring students through education and awareness.

Free tuition classes are held every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, covering subjects such as public speaking, life skills, and creative arts.
