Dimapur, Oct. 13 (EMN): Ngangpong FC defeated Donchingyangmei FC ‘A’ 2-0 in the first match of the ongoing 25th edition of Loyem Memorial Senior Soccer Open Championship on Friday. The first half was a tight one with neither side scoring a goal. In the 17th minute of the second half, Meren striker of Ngangpong FC scored the first goal and again doubled the lead for his team in the 29th minute. The match ended 2-0 in favour of Ngangpong FC.
The second match was a one sided match as 40 AR dominated the match defeating Pongen FC 3-0. In the match Yanchu, the defender of Pongen FC was cautioned by the match referee. In the first half Kotha Choza of 40 AR scored the first goal. In the second half L.C. Mawia doubled the lead and the third goal was scored by N.Baite for 40 Assam Rifles and ended the match at 3-0.
