‘We need youth hall, not pillars’

Dimapur, Dec. 22: A youth club in Tobu town under Tuensang district calling itself ‘Happy Club’ has expressed dismay over delay in construction of a youth hall and requested the responsible contractor to finish the construction at the earliest for the welfare of all.

“What we need is youth hall, but what we see is only the tall pillars for years and years. We don’t need tall pillars, we need youth hall,” Happy Club president H Moba and the general secretary Obey Benjamin said in a joint statement.

It expressed sadness that the construction of youth hall in Tobu town, which was allotted in the year 2011-12, has been left abandoned with only the pillars. The officials wondered if the politicians, contractor or the NGOs to be blamed.

It said delay in the construction of the proposed youth hall had deprived of many social activities in subsequent years.

The youth of Tobu town wanted to know whether the allotted budget had been misused or is still about the reach Tobu.

Meanwhile, the Club requested the responsible contractor to finish the construction at the earliest for the welfare of all.
