Vikheho Swu kick-starts Pughoboto inter-departmental sports meet

Dimapur, April 7 (EMN): MLA Y Vikheho Swu  kicked-off the first two-day Pughoboto inter-departmental sports meet at local ground, Pughoboto on Thursday.

Speaking at the event, Swu thanked all the employees posted in Pughoboto for their participation and appealed to them to remain consistent and committed, adding that every government employee has a big responsibility to shoulder the development of the state as well the country, a DIPR report informed.

He acknowledged the ADC for covering all the villages under his jurisdiction and also organising the event within a few months after he was posted in the division. He encouraged citizens to contribute in any way to produce sportspeople.

As the legislator of the area, he mentioned that his dream was to construct a rostrum in all the villages but only a few were completed including the mini stadium in Pughoboto.

ADC, Pughoboto urged the employees not only be confined to their offices but exhibit their abilities, get to know each other and remain healthy.

All departments under Pughoboto were divided into four teams namely, ‘Tsyui team’ including NAP, DEF, SIB, and NRB department, ‘Khucho team’ consisting of district administration, DEO, RD, and Food and Civil Supply, ‘Yeti team’ including agri, Soil and Water Conservation, Forest, Industries and Commerce and Education and ‘Tapu team’ from PWD, Power, PHED and Social Welfare department.

The sports meet is underway in the three disciplines of football (men), badminton (men’s doubles and mixed doubles) and women’s volleyball exhibition match.

In the football match, Khuchu team defeated Yeti team by 5-2.

The programme was chaired by SDPO Pughoboto, Aketo Chiso, a special song was presented by Topeni Futhena and invocation prayer was said by SABAK executive secretary, Tovishe Shohe.
