Vezosu, Vepfu win 12th Kikruma Badminton Championship

Kohima, Oct. 8. (EMN): The 12th Kikruma Badminton Association championship was held on the theme, ‘Build up excellence” at the Indoor Stadium Kohima with Welete (Atuo) Kapfo, PS to the minister for planning, coordination, evaluation and parliamentary affairs, as guest speaker on Tuesday, October 8.

While addressing the gathering, Kapfo urged the players to have self control and discipline. He also maintained that hard work is the only key to excel as professionals and asked the participants to build unity and friendship through sports.

Kapfo asserted that sports plays a vital role in keeping a body healthy and urged the youth to be agents of transformation, saying that “there is always a time of transformation for a better world, it is your time”.

Sachopra Vero, a retired bureaucrat, also encouraged young sport lovers to take up badminton as a discipline. Vero also asserted that engaging with sports is a way of keeping a healthy life.

The daylong championship was won by Vezosu and Vepfu, while Asapu and Nuhutso walked away with the second prize. Mutsitso and Mudothi, and Zanetso and Bedu made it to the semi finals.
