Dimapur, Aug. 25 (EMN): The Kohima District Village Development Board Union has expressed support to the district rural development agency (DRDA) employees’ demand that their salary be released.
The ‘function of the village development boards’ has been ‘badly affected’ due to the agitation of the DRDA, the union stated in a note to the media on Sunday.

‘The Kohima District VDB Union extends its solidarity towards the DRDAs’ demand for justice from the state government as it is most genuine. The DRDA employees have not got salary for the past 11-12 months is not a joke. It is their hard earned salary and should be paid immediately,’ the note stated.

“They deserve to get regular salary as DRDAs staff are (sic) most regular in their duties compared with their counter part in other departments and they also work tirelessly for the poor people in rural areas even though their salary is not being paid.”

The union added that ‘the function of the VDBs’ has been badly affected due to the agitation of the DRDA.
If the state government does not solve the present problem with the DRDA employees at the earliest, all the VDBs will be compelled to move for justice against the government, the union stated.
