KOHIMA — The United Sangtam Students' Conference (USSC) called on Director General of Police (DGP) of Nagaland Rupin Sharma in Kohima on Thursday to discuss issues concerning the Sangtam community.
During the discussion, the USSC firmly requested the DGP to expedite the resolution of the unfortunate death case of Tsalichum, emphasising the need for justice for the victim and his family.
The team also highlighted the shortage of staff at Kiphire district and Longkhim-Chare under Tuensang Police Station and requested the deployment of additional personnel. In response, the DGP assured that the matter would be addressed.
The USSC emphasised the need for greater public awareness on important social issues, particularly legal education related to filing FIRs and understanding crime-related laws.

Another key topic discussed was the growing problem of drug abuse in the district. The USSC and the DGP both agreed that strong action and awareness programmes are necessary to address the issue effectively.
The meeting concluded with the DGP assuring the students of ongoing cooperation and support.
