Two-wheeler taxi service launched in Dilong ward

Mokokchung, Feb. 5 (EMN): Two-wheeler taxi service, an initiation of the Well Wishers SHG from Dilong ward in Mokokchung town, was launched by N Bendang Jamir, president of NDPP Mokokchung region, while a dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Putiyanger, deacon of MTBA on Saturday.

President of Well Wishers SHG, Aridong, informed that the two-wheelers were sponsored by NLA Speaker, Sharingain Longkumer. He informed that Well Wishers SHG, formed by 11 like-minded people, shared a common vision with NLA Speaker to instill values of self-reliance among the youth. He added that first priority would be given to the unemployed youth of Dilong ward, who wanted to operate the two-wheeler taxi as their source of income.

Bendang also appealed to the people not to let its leader down but strive hard to be self-reliant by fulfilling his vision. He further encouraged the SHG members to increase the numbers of vehicles in order to provide more opportunity to unemployed youth. He further called upon the citizens of Dilong ward to take the project as a people project which aimed at providing sustainable livelihood especially to the unemployed youth.

Extending full support to the project, the Dilong ward chairman also expressed confidence that the endeavours would benefit the people.
