Dimapur, May 23 (EMN):
Two families in Diphupar village have been put under ‘home quarantine’ for failing to adhere to the village’s standing resolution of mandatory 14-day community quarantine.

It was in connection with two Naga youths who returned from Guwahati on May 14, which was categorised as ‘green zone’ then.

To allay fear and anxiety among the community, a member of Diphupar village task force for Covid-19, Winnerson Lotha clarified that the two youth did not run away from the institutional quarantine centre as reported on social media but for failing to undergo 14-day community quarantine. He told this newspaper that the two families were sealed for home quarantine for failing to comply with the village resolution adopted on May 13.

According to May 13 resolution, every community at Diphupar should set up a respective quarantine centre to accommodate the returnees as home quarantine for 14 days.

In contravention to the village resolution, Lotha informed that the family members of the two youth brought them to their respective homes after completing the mandatory three-day institutional quarantine at Agri Expo site.

“So in plain words, the two families were sealed under family quarantine for safety measures as they had mingled with the family members, and not because the two youth ran away as reported on various social media platforms,’ Lotha said.

He said the two families are undergoing 14-day home quarantine. He further stated that the two families are fine and adhering to the protocols with the neighbours and village authorities constantly looking after their needs and welfare.
