Dimapur, Aug. 3 (EMN): Hakushang ward was declared cleanest ward under Tuensang Town Council (TTC) followed by Old Medical ward, while the special award for “best performer in terms of effort” was awarded to TTC during a programme held at Town Hall in Tuensang on August 2.
The special guest and deputy commissioner of Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant, has congratulated the award recipient wards and acknowledged the efforts put in by all the wards. He also congratulated TTC in achieving the “Best performer in terms of effort,” stated a DIPR report.
“Cleanliness should be a habit in itself and everyone should try to inculcate the habit so that everyone can contribute to the cleanliness of our district,” he said.
He also encouraged the gathering to stop depending solely on government but to contribute when it comes to cleanliness.
“Nagas generally don’t own their town and properties but rather rely on third parties for the responsibilities,” he added.
He encouraged all the residents to own their town so that the set target could be achieved and further stated that trying for excellence and hard work is the only answer to achieve the targets.
ADC and administrator of TTC, Thungchanbemo, expressed the need for active participation and contributions of students, community, church, and unions for achieving the goal.
Report added that presidents of Hakushang ward and Old Medical ward also spoke on the occasion.
