Kohima, Feb. 29 (EMN): The 26th edition of Tsütuonuomia Inter Peli Rüzhü organised by Tsütuonuomia Youth Organisation (TYO) and Tsütuonuomia Khel Peli Union was held at T Khel Zie at Kohima village on Saturday.

About 150 participants from 18 ‘peli’ (peer groups) competed in different indigenous games during the event.

Tsünuomia Khel (T Khel) is one of the four clans of Kohima village.

In the ‘thepfüko kero keteshü’ final (men’s tug of war), Miavimia Peli hauled Vizachü Peli twice to clinch the championship title while Kevichadze defeated Khrie Lozi in the ‘thenuko kero keteshü’ final.

Peli No.18 swept both the games in men and women ‘thedze keya’, another indigenous game. Peli No.18 beat Peli No.16 in the men’s final game while the women participants overcame unified team comprising of Peli No.10, 11 and 12 in the women’s category.

In volleyball, Unified team won the final match by a set of 2-1 against Peli No.18.

Meanwhile, Mhasisetuo Zatsu, Keneiser Solo, and Kekhriesituo Whuorie bagged the first, second, and third positions in the ‘mepfü kemetsa’ (war cry yelling contest) respectively.

In ‘khuthuo ze keti’ (top spinning competition), Kekhriengulie Whuorie, Kelhouhenyü Whuorie, and Kikrukhrielie Solo won the first, second and third positions.

Keviphrü Sekhose became the champion in ‘thapru’ (fixed jump) while Ketoukhriezo Whuorie bagged the second position.

Both Thajangulie Suohu and Kekhriesituo Whuorie were given the third position title.

Executive engineer of Power department, Ruokuongutuo Suohu distributed the cash prizes to the winners as the guest of honour.

Tsütuonuomia Inter Peli Rüzhü is held annualyl to promote and preserve the culture and traditions of the clan amongst the youngsters of different peer groups.
