Training on capacity building for farmers held

Dimapur, Sep. 12 (EMN): A one-day training programme on capacity building for farmers was organised in the conference hall of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Kohima, on September 12. Progressive farmers from Tesophenyu and Ziphenyu villages attended the programme.
During the technical session, topics on cultivation practices of pea, insect pest management of winter vegetables, awareness on Swachhta hi sewa programme and doubling farmers income through systematic planning were discussed.

Dr. V. Akashe Zhimomi Senior scientist and head of KVK, Kohima, Dr. V Akashe Zhimomi stated that the resource persons were Imtisenla, ACTO (agronomy); K Michael Pienyu, ACTO (plant protection); Zhiete, ACTO (soil conservation); and Longma Yanger, ACTO (agri. extension) respectively from KVK, Kohima.
Altogether, 28 farmer attended the programme.

On September 11, a programme was also organised on the occasion of launching of the National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP) for Foot and Mouth Diseases (FMD) and Brucellosis and National Artificial Insemination Programme (NAIP) by the Prime Minister of India, which was live web telecast from Mathura Uttara Pradesh.

On the occasion, KVK, Kohima, brought out two books titled “Technology resources for farmers of Kohima district Vol – I and Vol – II which were released by Nokchasashi, ADC, Tseminyu. The ADC hoped that the technology resource produce by the Kendra would benefit the farmers of the district and also help the policy makers in framing policies.
