DIMAPUR, JULY 27
Trade organizations representing the business communities of Dimapur and Chumukedima have “requested” the anti-corruption movement, Against Corruption and Unabated Taxation (ACAUT) to withdraw the FIR it has lodged against the GPRN/NSCN in connection with the assault of an employee of a crockery store in Dimapur on July 19 last.
This was contained in press release issued on Monday by the publicity units of the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), Business Association of Nagas (BAN), East Dimapur Business Association (EDBA), Chumukedima Chamber of Commerce and Trade Association (CCCTA).
It stated that the reason behind their request to the ACAUT was the assurance from the ‘Kilo Affairs’ of the GPRN/NSCN that the outfit would “earnestly” look into the “bond agreement” imposed upon Kahoto Zhimo and Solomon L. Awomi, on separate occasions.
“It may be mentioned that the two members were detained at Kheoi HQ at separate periods of time and released after signing Bonds not acceptable to the business community.
Thereafter, in the latest incident where Kahoto Zhimo was beaten upon 19th July, the business community had demanded the revocation of both the Bond agreements by 26th July failing which the business community would be forced to go for further closure of shops,” the statement said.
It appreciated the GPRN/NSCN for understanding the sentiments of the traders and the Naga public. “While the business community in good faith appreciated the gesture of GPRN/NSCN, it will have no choice but to carry out its final resolution of bandh incase the latter withdraws its commitment to look into the issue earnestly.”
