Tovihoto assures to put extra effort on public service

Affirming his commitment to continue working for the uplift of the public, BJP candidate from 1 Dimapur-I Assembly Constituency (AC), H Tovihoto Ayemi, has assured to put extra effort so that no section or group is neglected or discriminated.

Ayemi made this assurance during his candidature declaration and dedicatory programme on Saturday at Naga Colony, Dimapur, in the presence of more than 8000 supporters.

In his address, Ayemi shared that during his 10 years stint in politics, he has experienced both good and bad times and was able to accomplish some and also failed in some.

He also highlighted welfare schemes of the central government under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and the benefits bestowed upon the citizens of Nagaland. He called upon the beneficiaries availing the welfare schemes to be grateful to the government for the service. Sharing about the NDPP and BJP pre poll alliance, he stated that both the parties are there to help each other.

He also mentioned how over the years, state government under the leadership of the chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, has provided all round development and progress in many sectors. Reminding that people functioning the government are also humans, he stated that implementation of programmes and policies to achieve 100% are not possible.

Citing how Dimapur was divided to three districts namely Chümoukedima, Niuland, and Dimapur, he expressed hope that the system would come into place gradually and be able to focus properly and make development plan accordingly. While admitting his shortcomings and limitations as a human, Ayemi has assured to put extra efforts so that no section or group is neglected or discriminated.

Speaking on the eviction notice that was issued for developing the Dimapur railway station into a world class, he said that government is for the people and they do not want to make anyone homeless.

He further expressed hope that there would be free and fair election.

The dedicatory prayer was led by WSBAK executive secretary, Rev. Phughoto Sema during the programme. Short speeches were also delivered by Tokuho Suhoi Neho, president of BJP Dimapur district; Zaveyi Kezo, BJP state secretary; Mohan Yadav, president of Shiv Mandir in Zakiesato Colony; Kuhoi Zhimomi, president of Dimapur Sumi Council; Chingkhiulung Gonmei, president of Rongmei Council Nagaland; Diswang Hau, chairman of NST Colony; Hozka K Awomi, GB and co-convenor of joint council ward 3 and 22; and Khekaho Assumi, former MLA.
