Today’s youth involved in drugs, alcohol and mobile games — Swelul Pucho

Dimapur, March 11 (EMN): Expressing the sad reality of today’s youth, where many are involved in drugs, alcohol addiction and mobile games, Swelul Pucho, chairman Tsiepfü Tsiepfhe Council, Kohima encouraged the youth to take up sports with genuine discipline and bring about positive change in the society.

He was speaking at the second edition of the Open Super Six Cricket Tournament, organised by Adjustment Bureau, Kohima on the theme ‘Pursue Oneness”, which was held on Friday, a press release informed.

Inaugurating the event as the special guest, he applauded the organisers for initiating such events and encouraged them to come up with similar events in the days ahead.

In the tournament, Juggernauts defeated Kohima Hornbills Cricket Club in the final to win the first prize and a cash award of INR 25,000, while the runner-up walked away with INR 8000 along with certificate.

The event ended with a vote of thanks by Anato Sema, convenor of the organiSing committee, who also gave away the prizes along with Kevichüto Yhoshü, president of Adjustment Bureau.

Meanwhile, the organisers expressed gratitude to Dr. Neikiesalie Kire, advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Vilone Sakhrie, director, department of Women Resource Development among others and all the well wishers without whom the event would not have been a success.

Earlier, the event started with an invocation prayer by Aviphru Chusi, Superintendent LBC.

Altogether, ten teams participated in the tournament.
