Three wheelers restricted in Mon town

Dimapur, July 11 (EMN): Deputy Commissioner, Mon, Thavaseelan K, has restricted movement of all three wheelers in Mon town with immediate effect.
The restriction on movement of all three wheelers has been imposed in pursuance to Motor Vehicles Department letter No. TC- 148/89/174-88 dated Kohima the 27th February 2002 regarding restriction of three wheelers in hill sector and in general interest of road safety and safety to life,

In a notification, the Deputy Commissioner has appealed the public for strict compliance.
In a separate notification, the Deputy Commissioner has informed all the bus owners and drivers of Mon town that parking of buses on the roadside and at private station would not be allowed with immediate effect.

He informed that defaulters would be strictly penalised.
The notification also stated that claims and objections, if any, could be submitted to his office within 30 days from the date of the issue of this notification.

Meanwhile, the DC also directed all concerned owners to remove abandoned vehicles lying on the roadside within one week of the issue of this notification. He stated that the district administration and police would remove and seize the vehicles after the expiry of the stipulated period. He added that the cost incurred would be realised from the concerned vehicle owners.
