Dimapur, Feb. 20: The third session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) will begin today, February 21 at 9.30 am in the Assembly Hall, Kohima.
The Business Advisory Committee decided during a meeting held earlier last week to hold the Assembly Session on Feb. 21, 22, 23, 25 and 26, according to an update from DIPR. The meeting was presided over by speaker in-charge of NLA, Zhaleo Rio.
The activities that will be taken up during the session include:
– Governor’s address
– Moving the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address
– Questions session
– Budget presentation
– Presentation of annual administrative reports
– Introduction of government bills
– Presentation of Supplementary Demand for Grants for the year 2018-2019
– Introduction, consideration and passing of the Nagaland Appropriation Bill, 2019
– Introduction of government resolution.
Traffic regulations in Kohima
In view of the 13th NLA session, the District Execution Force (DEF) Kohima has issued traffic regulations to be enforced from Feb. 21 to 26th (excluding Feb. 24) as part of the security arrangement. It said the police will tow away the defaulting vehicles and the charges will be borne by the vehicle owners.
• Only vehicles with car passes issued to the legislators, assembly staff, police personnel, media etc. will be allowed entry to the Assembly Secretariat.
• No vehicle, including two-wheeler, will be allowed to park by the roadside starting 6 am from BSNL Telephone Exchange till Classic Island; from Raj Bhavan till M.S Classic Island; and from Classic Island till Assembly Secretariat via Razhü Point during the Assembly Session.
• Heavy vehicles will not be allowed to ply in Kohima town during the Assembly Session from 6 am till the session is over. All loading and unloading of goods in Kohima town should be completed by 6 am.
