( Eloi, Eloi, Lama Sabachthani)

These last words were uttered by a man in pain and agony in the last stages of His earthly life. This cry is the cry of sacrificial love that was showered upon us as promised.
Eloi, Eloi lama sabachthani which means, “My God My God why have you forsaken me? Mark 15:34; is a cry of abandonment, loneliness and helplessness. Personally I feel those were the most agonizing moments of His earthly ministry. Jesus knew the physical and emotional pain that was to be involved in His mission towards the completion of His Father’s will. Inspite of the pain He did what was entrusted to Him and that’s the reason we now have a way to the Father through Him. Because of an act of obedience we can now be eternally saved. The final cry is the outcome of the final destiny. The end result was that He had to be forsaken that we may be accepted for eternity. People don’t feel unless they know how it feels like. Many people take these divine concerns casually and that is what they usually do. The pain was real and it will be real to you for eternity if you take it for granted. God says don’t and we say don’t because we love you as God loves you. I personally hope and pray that this ultimate cry will echo in your mind. Be emotionally attached to this cry that you will be emotionally charged to be one with Him. Its all about empathizing with Him on the pain He went through. The more you become intimate with Him, you will begin to understand His love for you. Your attachment to the ultimate cry will determine your final destiny. The more the final cry echoes in your head the more you will have empathy with Him.
The more you understand Him, the better your reward will be. Share in His pain, share in His sufferings that you may one day share in His glory. Christ made those sacrifices to show the depths of His love for us. If only we learn to be like Him, we will learn to share in His pain. He still watches over us and intercedes on our behalf. Great will be our reward in heaven if we commit our life to Him. Our willingness is all that He asks of us. The great men and women of God suffered and lived for the cause. They followed in the footsteps of their master. And we also should learn something from the life they lived.
The way they lived and the way they died speaks a lot of what they were. They didn’t only lived to be blessed but they lived to fulfill the plans of God in their life. The unique thing about them was that they lived to please God. As believers it is also our moral responsibility to live according to the promises of the Word. Let us share in His burden that we will one day share in His glory. The blessings are here and it is for you to receive it. Let this ultimate cry echo in your mind as you live on. This is what we as the Church of Christ should do. Let it be now and let His will be done.
