Dimapur, Sep. 18 (EMN): The All Nagaland Ad hoc Teachers’ Group (ANATG) 2015 batch has announced the decision to resume its hunger strike.
On September 17, the group informed the state government of its decision. The letter was also emailed to the local newspapers on Monday night. According to the teachers’ group, it was a response to the School Education department’s letter on September 12.
“If the department/government genuinely cares to address our grievances, it can take special measure only for our case without referring to the OM dated 04.08.2008 or OM dated 11.08.2016. Our case should not be dupped (sic) with other ad hoc or contract appointments.

We understand that if we are regularised, it can/may be challenged in the court by eligible persons but such prospective challenge, which may or may come about should not deter the department from regularising the ANATG-2015 batch. We are also confident that there will no objection against our regularisation,” the letter read.

Stating their demand was nothing less than to have their service regularised ‘since we all have cleared the Departmental-Suitability Test and as conferred with the rights to claim for service regularisation’, the group informed that it has no other option but to resume its hunger strike.
