Dimapur, Sep. 5 (EMN): Governor of Nagaland, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, on Monday extended greetings to the teaching fraternity on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.

The governor said teachers are the pillars of the society and expressed gratitude to them for shouldering the ‘responsibility of creating human resources’ and contributing to the growth of the nation.

He said September 5 glorifies teachers and acknowledges their unparallel and unique role towards nurturing the students.

“They are the fulcrum on which our entire future revolves. They are the building blocks of the nation. They sow the seeds of dreams in life, help in their germination and guide the students to translate the dreams into actions,” it read.

Stating that the date is dedicated to honour one of the greatest educationists and scholars of the nation — Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, he said it is an opportunity to pay homage and ‘recall the monumental role played by our teachers as nation builders’.

“I would like to appeal to all the teachers to discharge their duties with a renewed sense of dedication and sincerity. The vision and mission of the teachers become all the more important in the backdrop of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and the period of Amrit Kaal. Their role in moulding the students to take the lead in making India a Viswa Guru will be very critical during this period,” read the statement.

He further congratulated the national award winners and appreciated their role for the ‘qualitative improvement of rendering education’ especially in view of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

“I, once again, thank every teacher across our state and country for their role in fostering our future generations. May God be with you all,” he conveyed.
