T20 WCC: Royal Strikers Tsumang, Tritons CC Mokokchung enter semifinals

Wokha, 11 Jan. (EMN): Royal Strikers Tsumang defeated Salix Cricket Club on Tuesday to enter the semi final round of the T20 Winter Cricket Challenge in Wokha.

Winning the toss, Salix Cricket Club opted to bat first and scored a target of 121 runs in 20 overs, losing eight wickets.

Bipen Ngullie of Salix Cricket Club and Hamari Teron contributed 22 and 39 runs respectively.

Akash Chetry of Royal Strikers Tsumang claimed two wickets in four overs with 28 runs, while Sidharo Chanbay took three wickets in four overs, with 27 runs.

Royal Strikers Tsumang won the match by 6 wickets, with Limathung Ngully scoring 41 runs and Ayush 37 runs (not out).

 Abemo in his 3.4 overs claimed three wickets and 23 runs for Salix Cricket Club.

 Limathung Ngully was adjudged the man of the match.

 In the second match, PWD CC locked horns with Tritons CC Mokokchung. After winning the toss, PWD opted to bowl first.

 Tritons CC Mokokchung set a target of 198 runs, losing all wickets in 19.5 overs. Fahim Ahmed’s 54 runs in 31 balls, and Vikram Rawat’s 56 runs in 40 balls contributed to the team.

 Zubemo in his four overs and a maiden claimed two wickets and 24 runs for PWD.

 PWD CC fell short of 150 runs to secure a victory, losing all wickets in 14.6 overs and scored just 47 runs.

Zubemo Kikon, the lone batsman for PWD, could only gather a double digit figure of 10 runs in 9 balls.

 Arjun of Triton CC Mokokchung in four overs, 12 runs claimed five wickets while Meren in his four overs and one maiden, and nine runs took two wickets.

Meanwhile, Fahim Ahmed won the man of the match award.

On Jan. 12 (Wednesday), the first quarterfinal match will be played between EYL and Hurricanes.

In the second match, Tseminyu blackcaps will play against LYCO.
