SzCTE conducts seminar on inclusive education

Dimapur, Sep. 25 (EMN): Sazolie College of Teacher Education (SzCTE), Kohima, along with Nagaland State Disability Forum (NSDF), conducted a seminar on inclusive education on September 25 with Kezhaleto Zecho, president NSDF, and Ashe H Kiba, general secretary NSDF, as resource persons.
Kezhaleto has highlighted on the activities initiated by NSDF for the welfare of PWDs in Nagaland. He said the forum has achieved to open district disability rehab centre across the state. He added that the forum is putting in much effort to reach out to all the districts in the state.

Ashe Kiba spoke on the role of teachers and administrators in schools. Kiba stated that no child should be deprived of any facility of their disability adding their disabilities shouldn’t be a barrier for participation in curricular and co-curricular activities.

She said there are 21 types of disabilities which needs to be addressed and respected at various levels. She said it should be the duty of parents, relatives, friends and teachers to encourage PWDs to acquire education.

The programme was led by Vilakhole Naki, assistant professor of SzCTE, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Mhalo of B. Ed. 3rd semester.
