Dimapur, Oct. 20 (EMN): Olympian and Arjuna awardee, Chekrovolu Swuro has encouraged students to stay fit by engaging in sporting activities.

The archer, who is also an assistant commandant in Nagaland police, said this while addressing the students of the School of Agricultural Sciences and Rural Development (SASRD) Medziphema campus, during its 25th annual school week, held from October 16 to the 19th.

A press release from the school on Sunday informed that Swuro, the first and only female sportsperson from the state to have participated at the Olympics, had been invited as a special guest.

She told the students that physical fitness would automatically lead to a sound mind.

Also, Swuro shared with the students her struggles in life as well as the success achieved. As the statement from the school put: the stories was to inspire the students.

She advised the students to not lose hope when things were not in their favour.

For the annual event, the students were divided into four ‘houses’: Avengers (Red), Fantastics (Blue), Guardians (Yellow) and Wakanda (Green). The inspiration behind the names was the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it informed.

The Guardians emerged winners followed by the Avengers. The titles of cultural laureate, literary laureate, sportsman and sportswoman went to Medoze-U, Bansang, Velato Nyekha, and Soihiamthai Kaurinta respectively.
