Dimapur, Jan. 30 (EMN): The Sekruzu Women Block Level Federation (SWBLF) under RD, Sekruzu Block, Phek held its first annual general meeting-cum-celebration of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav’ at Vamuzo Memorial Town Hall in Chozuba on Jan. 29.

 An update informed that the programme was promoted by Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM), department of Rural Development.

It stated that Muluvelu Swuro, Vice President SWBLF chaired the programme, while Kukukhrulu Khusoh, President SWBLF delivered the welcome address.

Besuvoto Veswuh, Block Programme Manager (NSRLM), Sekruzu Block, in his key note address informed that the block has 284 SHGs, 26 VLOs and 1 block-level federation. He encouraged SHG women to access the credit linkages for self-sustainable livelihoods and educated unemployed youth to get trained under DDU-GKY for self-reliance.

Speaking as the guest speaker, Block development officer and BMM, RD Sekruzu Block, Chitsoru Vasa urged the SHG women to produce locally available products for good market linkages and better sources of income. He also challenged the youth not to indulge in anti-social activities but engage in skill trainings for better living.

Altogether, 225 SHG members, various community-based organisations (CBOs), leaders from SHGs, women activist, NSRLM officials and RD staff attended the meeting, it added.
