Dimapur, April 14 (EMN): Advisor of Tourism, Art and Culture, H Khehovi Yepthomi, inaugurated two new buildings including the police station and SDO (C) office at Suruhoto town in Zunheboto district on April 14.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Yepthomi has termed a ‘historic day’ for the people of Suruhuto as two new office buildings were inaugurated in one day. He thanked the contractor Shivikhu Shikhu for completing the SDO (C) office building within the timeframe despite many hurdles. He also thanked the former parliamentary secretary Shetoyi for initiating the project, a DIPR report stated.
The advisor also urged the public to take good care of the facilities provided by the government. Stating that good medical facilities, schools, roads, police stations etc. are the basic needs for development, the advisor said that the people of Suruhuto should be thankful to the government for making their dreams a reality.
He also thanked the PDA government under the leadership of the chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, for making the dreams of the people of Suruhuto a reality. He further requested the people to enrol themselves in the census list.
Short speeches was delivered by Vihuto Achumi, member of Suruhuto Area Sports Association; superintendent of police Zunheboto T Uniel Kichu; DIG (Range/NAP) Tuensang Rajashekara N; and DC Zunheboto Peter Lichamo.
In his short speech, the SP thanked the advisor for taking outmost initiation for setting up a police station in Suruhuto and assured that the police would do its best to make the new police station efficient for the people. He further sought cooperation from the public.
Also speaking at the function, the DIG thanked the people of Suruhuto for making the inauguration ceremony of police station and SDO(C) office building a success. As Suruhoto is located at a tri junction connecting Tuensang, Noklak and Zunheboto, he stated that the office was a necessity.
The DC also thanked the advisor for making the day happened and requested the public to co-operate with the administration and government. He encouraged the people to give land in order to usher in development in the district.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Kuzonyi wideo, SDO (C) Suruhuto, while the dedicatory prayers for police station building was said by a women leader Kavili and for the SDO (C) building was said by Vikaho Zhimo.
Technical report was presented by the building contractor Shivikhu Shikhu, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Hovishe Shikhu and the benediction prayer was said by SS leader Lashiho.
