Dimapur, May 31 (EMN): As part of ‘Creativity Day,’ students of DMI St. Joseph Global School organised an online campaign on the theme ‘Say no to drugs, alcohol, cigarettes and tobacco.’ The campaign was organised to create awareness on the ill-effects of those items among the public, which also coincided with the ‘World No Tobacco Day’ on May 31.

An update from the school stated that students from Kindergarten (KG) to Class X were assigned various activities to tap the latent creativity and to showcase their talents and skills.

Activity for KG was ‘Dismantle a toy car/ building blocks and assemble it back,’ while for students from Classes I-III on ‘Learning the capitals of all the Indian states and Union territories,’ for students of Classes IV and V on ‘Imagine you are the traffic policeman/ woman and tell us the road rules you want the public to follow when they walk on the road,’ for students of Classes VI and VII on ‘Memorise any chapter of Psalms (Bible) or from your holy books,’ and for students from Classes  VIII-X on ‘Say no to drugs, alcohol, cigarettes and tobacco.’

It stated that all the students came out with interesting display of activities through posters, video clippings and submitted to their respective class teachers. It added that the senior class students came out with beautiful and meaningful posters and virtual portrayal of the ill-effects of the drugs, alcohol, cigarettes and tobacco through PPTs, video clippings, art, etc.

The aim of the campaign was to involve children at home during the lockdown, de-stress them, create enthusiasm for learning and to create awareness on the ill-effects on the use of alcohol and tobacco.

Later in the day, selected video clippings and snapshots of the posters were released on the social media to create awareness.
