Nagaland reports 1 new Covid case, 8 recoveries

Dimapur, March 15 (EMN):
Nagaland reported one Covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s tally to 35452.

The active caseload reduced to 48 with the recovery of eight more patients during the same period, while the tally of recoveries increased to 33163.

Six recoveries from Dimapur and one each from Kohima and Longleng were reported on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the death toll stands at 753 with no death reported on Tuesday.

Out of the 48 active cases, 46 are asymptomatic, and two mild.

In terms of district-wise distribution of active cases, Dimapur has 31 cases, 11 in Kohima, five in Mokokchung, and one in Kiphire, while Longleng, Mon, Peren, Phek, Tuensang, Wokha and Zunheboto are currently Covid-free.

2,568 new cases in India

India logged 2,568 new coronavirus infections, taking the tally of Covid-19 cases to 4,29,96,062, while the active cases dipped to 33,917, according to Union Health Ministry data on Tuesday.

The death toll climbed to 5,15,974 with 97 fresh fatalities, the data showed.

4,722 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients is now at 4,24,46,171, it said.

The active cases comprise 0.08% of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate further improved to 98.72%, the ministry said.

India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 180.40 crore (1,80,40,28,891).
