State records 5 new Covid-19 cases

Dimapur, Oct. 24 (EMN): Nagaland recorded a single-day rise of five new Covid-19 cases on Sunday, taking the tally to 31,712 and active caseload to 243.

The last time the state recorded a single digit infection in a day was on October 14.

According to an update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, the state’s cumulative recoveries increased to 29,760 following recuperation of 12 more patients while the death toll remained unchanged at 664 with no fresh fatalities reported in the last 24 hours.

Out of the five fresh infections reported on Sunday, two were in Zunheboto, and one each in Dimapur, Kohima and Mokokchung. The state also registered 12 new recoveries — six in Dimapur, five in Kohima and one in Mokokchung.

Nagaland currently has 243 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 192 are asymptomatic, 39 mild, five moderate on oxygen, and seven severe on oxygen.

In regard to district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Dimapur has the highest number with 122, followed by Kohima with 47, 30 in Tuensang, 16 in Mokokchung, eight each in Longleng and Wokha, four in Phek, three in Mon, two each in Peren and Zunheboto and one in Kiphire.
