State NVBDCP team visits Kiphire, Zunheboto

Dimapur, April 26 (EMN): As part of supportive and supervisory monitoring activity, the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) Nagaland officials led by Dr. I. Talitemsula Jamir (Jt.Director) took up a five-day tour of Aspirational district, Kiphire and Zunheboto along with the monitoring team.

The team covered Pungro sub-division, Kiphire sadar and Seyochung sub-division during the five-day tour, informed an update from NVBDCP, Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland. It also conducted a meeting at G.A. Guest house, Pungro with the chairmen/representatives/ stakeholders of nine wards on April 23 and proposed to adopt Pungro as model town for reduction of malaria case which was very high in the year 2018.

The team took park in World Malaria Day programme at Seyochung town on April 25 where Jamir urged the students to take active part to eliminate malaria. Dr. Neisakho Kere (Dy.Director) also spoke during the occasion.

The Team also visited Aghunato block, Satakha Block, Pughoboto block under Zunheboto district on April 25 and 26th where a meeting was held at DVBO office Zunheboto. SPO NVBDCP highlighted the performance of all categories of staff under the programme and also instil upon them not to be complacent as the target of the mission is to eliminate malaria by 2022.
