State BJP launches MODI Fest in Dimapur

Dimapur, June 12 (EMN): President of State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Visasolie Lhoungu today launched a three day State-wide publicity campaign ‘MODI fest’ (Making of Developed India festival) to mark three years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi government at the Centre here today at Tourist Lodge, Dimapur.
The BJP led NDA government under the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has completed three years on May 26, 2017, and to celebrate the completion and mark the beginning of the fourth year, the government has planned 21 days festival of MODI fest or dubbed as the festival of ‘Making of Developed India (MODI) from May 26 to June 15, announced Lhoungu at a press conference on Monday at Tourist Lodge, Dimapur.
The MODI fest is being observed to disseminate the government schemes initiated by the government to every citizen in every nook and corner of the country as well as provide platform for the people to avail the facilities as required, said Lhoungu.
MODI fest comprises of “Saach Ke Saath, Sab ka Vikas” (Together with all, development of all) programme which will be organised in every district headquarters which started from May 26 and will continue till June 15.
“The programme encompasses various aspects of reaching out to the public with information of government schemes and their implementations, interaction with the public and offering a platform for the people to avail the hundreds of government schemes initiated by Modi’s government,” maintained the State BJP president.
The MODI fest in Dimapur will be held from June 12 to 16, while the main event will be inaugurated on June 14 in Dimapur by Minister for PWD, R&B, and Fisheries, Government of Assam, Parimal, informed Lhoungu.
Various schemes and efforts undertaken by the central government in the last three years in Nagaland were highlighted to media persons at the press conference.
In the handout made available to media persons, it mentioned that Ministry of Tourism has sanction Rs 97.36 crores for Peren-Kohima-Wokha under development of tribal circuit, while Rs 99.67 crores have been sanctioned for Mokokchung-Tuensang-Mon.
Besides, the party maintained that under the Ministries of Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy and Mines, 76 villages have been electrified out of 82 un-electrified villages (as on May 1, 2016).
On the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) Systems Strengthening and Nutrition Improvement Project (ISSNIP), they maintained that no smart phones have been provided and there are not a single anganwadi workers undergoing Information and Communication Technology enabled Real Time Monitoring (ICT-RTM) even after the scheme was made available. When queried, the party maintained that the state government had not processed for the scheme.
It may be noted that the festival was inaugurated by PM Modi during the inauguration of India’s longest bridge in Assam on May 26. The MODI fest will be celebrated in over 300 districts in the country. A toll free number 1800-120-6677 have also been initiated for people to call if there are any queries about the schemes.
