Dimapur, June 25 (EMN): St. Thomas Mission Society- the parent body of MGM College, MGMHSS, MGM hostel- held a felicitation programme for HSSLC rank holders of MGMHSS and semester toppers of MGM College on June 22.
Memento and cash award were given to Suhana Begum, 1st rank holder of HSSLC in Commerce, and Shingke Pongmai, 2nd rank holder of HSSLC in Arts.
Akung, 1st semester topper, Idimchu and Limatula Aier, 4th semester toppers, were also felicitated with KV Ponnan memorial cash award.
During the function, a new rolling trophy and cash award was declared by the bishop in memory of Priyanka Ganta, BA (Pol. Sc) second semester student, who died in a car accident on February 12, 2019, at Lalmati on her way to attend Zoomax competition organised by the Nagaland University.
Earlier, St. Thomas Mission Society donated INR 2 lakhs to Priyanka’s parents and also introduced a rolling scholarship trophy in her memory. The first rolling trophy and cash award was given to Akung, BA 2nd semester, by Dr. Joseph Mar Dionysius in the presence of Priyanka’s parents G Madhav Rao and G Pushpa Rao along with Dimapr Telungu Baptist Church pastor Rev. VK Rao and BV Sreedhar.
