St. Joseph’s University students meet governor

Dimapur, Sep. 19 (EMN): Governor PB Acharya interacted with students of St. Joseph’s University, Dimapur, who had participated in the Swachh Bharat Mission Summer Internship 2018, at the Raj Bhavan in Kohima on Tuesday.

According to a Raj Bhavan statement, the governor was apprised about the Swachh Bharat Mission Summer Internship at Woroku village in Wokha district from June 7 to 19th by Dr. Pramodini Magh Rengma. The programme was an initiative of the college’s department of Social Work.

Pramodini informed that various activities were conducted by the students including interaction with adolescent girls, youth and villagers; street plays; waste material collection drive; training on solid waste management, etc.

“Governor Acharya congratulated the students in being a part of the Swachh Bharat Mission Summer Internship and hoped that the experience will have a positive impact in every aspect of their life. The governor encouraged the students to practice and put into action the activities learned and to be agents of the Swachh Bharat movement.

The students were also given certificate of achievement by the governor on completion of their internship programme. Nine students from the department of Social Work, St. Joseph’s University along with two lecturers interacted with Governor Acharya,” it informed.
