‘Spotify for Artist Master Class’ held in Dimapur
DIMAPUR — A workshop on ‘Spotify for Artist Master Class’ curated by Musik-A events was held at Hotel Saramati in Dimapur on Saturday.
The workshop led by Padmanabhan NS (Paddy), Spotify head for Artiste and Label Partnerships for India was exclusively held for artistes, artiste managers, music producers, distributors, label and A&R representatives.
At the workshop, he elaborated on various contents of spotify including spotify today, spotify products, spotify for artistes, spotify playlists, spotify advertising-for music and resources.
He said that the mission of spotify is to unlock the potential of human creativity, by giving million creative artistes, the opportunity to live off their art, and for billions of fans the opportunity to enjoy and be inspired by it.He enlightened that spotify has 489 million monthly users, 205 million paying subscribers, launched in more than 180 markets and they have paid INR 30 billion to right holders since launching of the programme.
Padmanabhan mentioned that a lot of artistes from Northeast are listened to by various other countries, adding that spotify can get them a global audience. He also informed that from every rupee spotify make, 70 paise is given to the rights holder.
Chairman of TaFMA, Theja Meru, who spoke during the workshop, encouraged artistes to use the platform to grow. He added that spotify India is helping so that their music can constantly grow.
