Special train from Chennai arriving today; officials take stock of arrangements

Dimapur, May 21 (EMN): As the first special train carrying stranded citizens of Nagaland is expected to arrive from Chennai today, May 22, officials from Dimapur visited the Dimapur Railway Station to oversee the arrangements and logistic in place for receiving the returnees.

The team of officials was led by Y Kikheto Sema, in-charge of Dimapur district for Covid-19 activities, Deputy Commissioner Anoop Khinchi, Commissioner Police Rothihu Tetseo, Chief Medical officer Dr.Tiasunep, DPRO Lolano Patton, Food Committee Convenor Avonuo other police officers, informed an update from DIPR.

During their visit, officials discussed on how to receive the returnees on arrival, placement of sound system and how to sent the returnees district wise to Kohima besides Mon and Peren who will be escorted to Agri Expo site along with Dimapur based returnees.

It has informed that lunch for all the returnees who will be arriving from the special train will be sponsored by Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton.

Govt. to set up quarantine centre at Ganeshnagar

The state government has decided to set up an institutional quarantine centre for the stranded persons returning to Nagaland at the special economic zone, Ganeshnagar in Dimapur.

Further, it has been decided that Aotemsu, DIG, Training, Chumoukedima shall be overall in-charge of the quarantine centre and shall put in place all arrangements including food, basic amenities and logistics in the centre.
