Mokokchung, May 27: A six-week long “Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Training on Mobile Repairing” got underway at Cosmos Entertainment Inc. today. More than 30 youth are undergoing the free training programme conducted by Alaphra Group and sponsored by Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).
Addressing the inaugural function, the chief guest and president of Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Tsukti Longkumer, defied popular assumption Mokokchung as a small market and defended that the market is strategically located and well connected with Zunheboto, Longleng and Tuensang districts for viable business operation.
He encouraged the participants not to idly wander around after acquiring the knowledge and skills but to look beyond Mokokchung market for better opportunities adding bigger the obstacles it is better opportunities for market.Also speaking on the occasion, Manager of SIDBI, Dimapur, S Pauminthang Gangte said the mandate that the central government has entrusted to SIDBI was financing, development and to promote Micro Small and Medium Enterprises in India.
Saying that without proper skills, the growth of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises cannot come up, he said SIDBI as a nodal agency has been implementing skill development schemes for the drops outs and educated unemployed youth. He also encouraged the participants to get the maximum benefits out of the training programme.
Ricky Ozukum, MD of Alaphra Group, said in today’s scenario certificates alone is not enough but skills base has become essential commodity in every field. He also added that such workshops have benefited many unemployed youth who are now venturing their own business or engaged in various works.
He also enlightened the participants that the Alaphra not only provides various skill base trainings but also provide support to those trainees who wanted to establish their own business or wants to pursue higher training courses.
Alaphra Group -affiliated with Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship under the ministry of Entrepreneurship & Skill Development focus on four sectors- events, training, tourism and travelling and Brand Marketing.
It may be mentioned here that Alaphra Group had conducted a DTP course last year in Mokokchung.
