SJC girl cadets lead from the front

56 NCC girls of St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama with their ANO, Capt. Regina Razousinuo at CATC-5 held at Sazolie College, Jotsoma.

 

Dimapur, May 20 (EMN): The girl cadets of St. Joseph’s College (SJC), Jakhama shone at the recently concluded ten-day Combined Annual Training-5 held at Sazolie College, Jotsoma from May 4 to 13th. It was organized by 1 Nagaland Girls’ Battalion NCC-Kohima under the aegis of NCC Group-Kohima.

According to an update issued by Capt. Regina Razousinuo, Associate NCC Officer SJC, “the girl cadets of SJC, Jakhama shouldered the responsibility in leading the cadets in the camp.” The college sent highest number of NCC — 56 girls and 12 boys – to the training camp. The 400 NCC cadets, who were from various parts of the state, were divided into four companies – Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Delta – with SUO Vinole Kiso as the Camp Senior, while JUO Nokyinchila Imchen and JUO Mhashienü Lothü were the company commanders of Alpha and Bravo respectively.

During the competition events, JUO Nokyinchila Imchen won the title of ‘Best Firer’, while CDT Maneni Chaste ‘Cadet won the Best Drill’, JUO Mhashienü Lothü ‘Cadet won the Best Guard of Honour’ and CDT Yanchibeni N. Kithan was awarded ‘Best Master of Ceremony, while Alpha Company led by Imchen got the first prize in squad drill, tug-of-war (Junior wing category) and cultural competitions, and second position in basketball and line area competition. Bravo Company led by JUO Mhashienü Lothü won the first prize in line area competition and tug-of-war (Senior Wing category) and second place in map reading and cultural competitions, according to the update.

Razousinuo was awarded the prestigious Director General NCC Commendation Card and Medal (the second time) by Brig. S.S. Dhankhar, Group Commander, NCC Group-Kohima, for her outstanding performance and dedication to National Cadet Corps (NCC) during the cultural extravaganza session.

The management and staff of St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama extended their heartfelt gratitude to Brig. S.S. Dhankhar, Col. Rajeev Kumar (former CO of 1 NL Girls’ BN NCC)  and Col. Avinash D. Pitre for training the cadets well and rendering  recognition of their achievements as well as of the hard work and dedication of the Associate NCC Officer.
