There could be more Olympians in the making if a recent sports camp is anything to go by. A free coaching camp called ‘Catch Them Young 2020 Olympics’ in Dimapur saw 16 boys and girls between the age of 10 and 18 competing in various disciplines. On the second day, a competition was conducted among the youth and “many scored 80%-90% which is a record almost equal to the all-India standard,” according to a source.
The local sports tout that organized the said event, Aries Rifle & Pistol Shooting Academy, will be conducting another free coaching camp during July 30-31. The video clippings from the first coaching camp would be telecast on local channels Global Chapter and City Cable.Interested boys and girls from 10 yrs of age up to 18 can download shooters’ ID forms from www.ariesfoundation.com and submit it on or before July 29, to Aries Rifle & Pistol Shooting Academy Shooting Range, NST Colony in Dimapur. They are to submit the forms with two passport-size photographs and age-proof certificates.
The dress code for the two-day training will be t-shirts, track pants, snickers and a hand towel each. Air rifles, Air pistols, “shooting dress”, pellets and targets will be provided by the academy, the organizers informed. For further details one may contact the numbers 9436010820 and 8974008760.
