“Jesus wept.”
“Record my lament; list my tears on your scroll-are they not in your record?”
“ During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.”
“For, as I have often told you before and now say again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross.”
“ Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy.”
“ And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.”
“ Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep for yourselves and your children.”
The greatest sign of love are also seen in tears and the depths of it are known better by those who mourns. Even as it speaks of the feelings within, the beauty of it are seen more in the eyes of those who are filled with love. Though the languages of tears are many, the better’s worth are those whose eyes are fixed on the cross. The joy of it is our love, our passion. The mystery of the fruits it will bear is what we await.
