Dimapur, Aug. 25 (EMN): Under the aegis of the Chakhesang Baptist Church of Ministers’ Hill in Kohima, members of the seniors’ fellowship observed on August 25 what updates called a ‘seniors’ day’ in the church’s premises.
Updates stated on Sunday that the programme was conducted with the theme “Even to your old age and grey hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you” (Isaiah 46:3-4).
Approximately 100 senior citizens joined the special service, updates stated.

The organisers issued a press release to the media on Sunday informing about the event.
Senior pastor of Ministers’ Hill’s Chakhesang Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. Vevo Phesao spoke at the service. He was stated to have spoken to the congregation about the miracles and power of prayer. For instance, how Joshua prayed during his defeat of the Amorites.

“Joshua prayed to let the Sun to stand still over Gibeon and Moon over the valley of Aijalon in Joshua 10:12 and the Sun stood still and the Moon stopped (Joshua 10:13) till the nation avenged itself on its enemies,” the press release stated. Here, the pastor was stated to have referred to ‘internet sources.’

“He added that as per the internet sources, there was a missing night in October 1207 BC and it was both biblically and scientifically proved to be true,” the press release stated.

The church leader was stated to have urged the senior citizens, those aged 60 years and above, to lead faithful and truthful lives. According to the press release, Phesao said ‘Joshua led a life of a very good beginning and a beautiful finishing live and therefore everyone should opt for the living system (sic) of Joshua.’

Ministers’ Hill Chakhesang Baptist Church’s associate pastor Thujoneyi Veswuh led the worship service. Deacon Kerethi Vero invoked God’s blessings. A “seniors report” was presented by senior fellowship convenor Zuhucho Resuh, the updates stated.

Further, the men’s fellowship choir ‘enthralled the congregation with their special piece presentation,’ the updates stated. Another citizen Melhite-u Khalo said the offertory prayer. Yephutsolu Ruho read from the Word of God, the updates stated.
