A seminar on Role of Media  under the theme  “Promoting Peace and Harmony for Development – Role of Media” organized by Media Wing of Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya’s Rajyoga Education & Research Foundation at Zonal Council Hall, Kohima today.Professor Kamal Dixit, Journalist & National Coordinator, Society of Media in the keynote address said people need to change in education and health. Dixit urged the media to choose what is good and bad for the society.
He stressed that the all round peaceful development can be brought about with good attitude and clear perception. He asserted that corruption in the society and tendency of vested interest should be done away.
He said that it is time to take a stand for what is good for the society.
He said that the role of the media is to bring about the betterment of society and therefore encouraged the members present to do their part for the development of the society.
B.K. Shantanu, Media Coordinator, Mount Abu in his speech spoke on his organisation’s efforts to promote world peace and harmony since its establishment in 1937.
B.K. Sushan, National Media Coordinator, Brahma Kumaris of Delhi emphasising the aims and objectives said there are seven core qualities namely (i) truth, knowledge and wisdom, (ii) peace, (iii) love, (iv) happiness, (v) bliss, (vi) purity, (vii) power that has to regulate and play within with trustworthy and credibility in media.
He said that the media also has to perform its duty for the best interest of the society.
Rupa, Coordinator of Kohima Branch of Brahma Kumaris led the meditation session.
The programme was attended by a large number of the media fraternity of Kohima. The programme concluded with an interaction with the invitees.
