Sekrenyi mini hornbill indigenous games competition held

Kohima, Feb. 26 (EMN): The second day of the Sekrenyi Mini Hornbill Festival was held under the theme, “Purifying Confluence” at Khuochiezie on Tue. Feb. 26 with Dr. Kedo Punyu, president, Angami Gazetted Officers Krotho inaugurating the indigenous games competition and stalls as the special guest.

Participants from four ranges of Angami tribe competed in indigenous games like wrestling, tug of war, fix jump, war cry and folk songs.

In the folk song competition WASA took the first position with NASA coming in second position. Rokovi Khawakhrie (WASA), Neithongulie Kuotsu(SASA) and Pelevikho Kuotsu (WASA) bagged the first, second and third respectively in fix jump competition.

Visilhou Chüsi (WASA), Kikrukhrielie Solo (NASA) and Kekuno (SASA) bagged the first, second and third position in war cry competition.

SASA, WASA and NASA bagged the 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively in tug of war competition, while Kekhriezo Nagi from (WASA) emerged as the wrestling champion.

Kekhriengulie Whourie (NASA), Thekrusevi meru (WASA) and Bisekhoto Gwirie (WASA) bagged the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
